John Golden, Choir Director

John was born and raised in Forsyth County.  He has been involved in music for 49 years.  John began taking piano lessons when he was six years old.  He started playing the trumpet when he was 12 years old. To this day, he still plays both and is very musically active.

John grew up in the Baptist Church where he sang in the youth choir.  He married his wife Angela in 1984 and joined Olivet Moravian Church soon after.  Angela is a lifelong member of Olivet Moravian Church.  John has played the piano for the Cherubs Choir and played in the church band for 30 years.  He also directs the Youth Chorus.  Make a joyful noise unto the Lord (Psalm 100).  John reminds everyone that our God does not expect us to all sing in perfect pitch or to hold every note to the exact count.  As long as we are making a joyful noise, God will be pleased, and that is what matters!

For information about our music programs, John can be reached at JGolden961@JGFrames.com. Also please take a look at our ministries page.

Kandis Fox, Administrative Assistant/Secretary

Kandis is our administrative assistant and came to work at Olivet in April 2006. She coordinates and manages many functions; including creating weekly bulletins, monthly newsletters and updating the church calendar of meetings, events, and building usage.

She feels her job is a ministry to others on any given day, depending on who calls or stops by the church office. She is customer-service oriented and enjoys helping others whenever she can. Kandis hopes everyone ‘hears her smile’ when they call the church.

She has been a member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem for over 20 years, but was raised Moravian. She has three married children, six grandchildren and loves being “Gamma” and Mom!
